Get your thinking caps on!

I know that it is only October, but before we know it, it will be November. The Saturday after Thanksgiving (the 27th) is the BAMTA Playathon at Barnes and Noble. This is where the kids can dress up and play their Christmas songs as the shoppers shop! The kids had so much fun doing last year that I hope you will all participate this year. I would like if you guys could learn at least 2 songs each to be able to play. We need to start picking out the songs we would like to learn, so if that means you need to get a book, or go look through the sheet music to see you see anything you would like, or tell me, and I can look for some for you. Yay for Christmas time!!!

BAMTA Patriotic Frestival

There is a festival coming up on October 30th. The theme is patriotic or anything have to do with America. You could play anything from the Star Spangled Banner, to Yankee Doodle. This is a festival, not a competition, so there will be no winner. This year is a little different in that one you have played for a judge, you have the opportunity to make some cards to send to our soldiers. Also, BAMTA has joined with Blue Star Mothers to help collect items that will be sent to our soldiers. I will be handing out a list of items that you can choose from that you can bring to the festival. You can do this part even if you choose not to participate in the festival.

The cost is 15.00 and the deadline for registration is October 9th. If you would like to participate we really need to know as soon as possible so that we can pick a song, learn and memorize before October 30th. I have some songs picked out for some of you.

Thanks!!!

If you would like to include August tuition in the same check that is great. Otherwise tuition will be due at the first lesson in August. I am looking forward to this new semester!!

Recital and other odds and ends

Okay everyone, the recital is almost here. Tuesday May 11th is the day. I had hoped to have an outdoor recital at my house, but because the weather is an issue, I am not brave enough to try it just yet. The recital will be held at Tulsa Bible Church at 7:00 -8:00 followed by a cookie reception. Everyone needs to bring some cookies or favorite snack to share.

This week is of course group lesson, and then we have one more week of regular lessons. May 10th we will have our final group lesson. This group lesson will be from 4-5 and both groups will be combined. We will use this time to wrap up the year, perform our recital pieces one last time before the recital, and then end with a little party. I need everyone to make it.

The recital will conclude this year of study. Those of you who have decided to take through the summer will resume lessons in June. The Fall semester will start August 16th.
